Tanzania Entry Requirements
Tanzania entry requirements vary depending on your country of origin. Most tourists need a passport valid for 6 months after arrival as well as at least 2 blank visa pages in your passport for travel, but some may require visas as well.
Tanzania uses an eVisa system that allows travelers to apply and pay for their visas online before arriving in the country.
Travelers should submit their Tanzania eVisa applications at least 10 business days ahead of the planned trip to receive the approved document on time. Once approved, the electronic Tanzania eVisa gets delivered to each applicant via email.
You can use this document to visit Tanzania for 30 days for all tourism-related purposes. eVisa for Tanzania is a single-entry visa, which means it can be used for one entry within the validity period.

We recommend applying for online visa because otherwise it will be necessary to stand in line with other travellers to get an ordinary one.
Referral visa
Citizens of some countries may require a referred visa in order to travel to Tanzania, even as a tourist. In these cases, the application form is not as straightforward and cannot be completed upon arrival. Please note, processing time for this application can take over 60 days, so it is important to apply well in advance. Tanzania Immigration recommends not booking flights until your referral visa has been approved.
