Itinerary

Day 1:  Arrival – Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport, you will be picked up from the airport by a Kilele Climb representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Moshi/Arusha where you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come, restore and enjoy your first taste of Africa. Depending on your arrival time, you may have your pre-safari briefing today; if not, it will take place early tomorrow morning.

Day 2: Arusha to central Serengeti

  • Distance & Drive time: Arusha to Serengeti takes about 6 to 7 hours (382 km/237mi)

After early breakfast at 6:30 am in your hotel/lodge in Arusha, you will be met by your safari driver guide and start your journey toward Serengeti. we will have a short stop at the Rift valley viewpoint and the Ngorongoro crater viewpoint before you arrive on the plain of Serengeti. Today we will enjoy a picnic lunch on Naabi kopje (a small, rocky hill in a generally flat area) where you will have the opportunity to view the Serengeti’s famous pink-headed lizards. After lunch in the afternoon, you do your first game drive spotting animals like lions, leopards, buffalo, dik-dik, Thomson’s gazelle, grant’s gazelle, elephant, impala, giraffe, hippopotamus, and many more. The Serengeti is famous for the yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebra trek to find fresh grass and water. You will overnight at a lodge /campsite in central Serengeti in the Seronera area.

After breakfast enters into the corners of plains Serengeti for a full day game drive to explore the Serengeti. The Serengeti National Park is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania’s game park and offers arguably the best game viewing in Africa. The setting is perfect- A sea of the endless plain that stretches to the horizon, dotted with the occasion acacia tree and termite mound. This savannah is home to huge herds of wildebeest that every year make the mass migration north, through crocodile-infested rivers in a frenzied mixture of mating and galloping that is driven by instinct. Pride of lions’ rules here, their hungry gaze sweeping the savannah for a chance to attack the thousands of eland impala and gazelle, Solitary leopards stake out their place in the high branches of the acacia tree and herds of elephants’ roam at will. This is the Africa that you have always dreamed about. You will overnight at a lodge/campsite located in central Serengeti in the Seronera area.

Day 4: Serengeti-Ngorongoro crater to Arusha

  • Distance & Drive time: Serengeti to Ausha takes about 6 to 7 hours (382 km/237mi)

After early morning breakfast, you will drive to Ngorongoro crater, as it is the best time to spot animals on this day, you will enjoy a game drive around the crater and stop for a picnic lunch at a small lake within the park (Ngoitok Hippo pool). The lake is home to many hippos and migratory birds, you will enjoy the visit! Due to the animal “oasis” created within the crater, there is a high possibility of spotting every member of “The Big 5

The ground comprises some of the strongest animals in Africa-the ferocious lion, The giant elephant, the stealthy Leopard, the charging rhino, and the mighty water buffalo. Ngorongoro crater travels back to Arusha. This is the last leg of your safari, with a 4hrs drive left to Arusha, you will be dropped off at JRO Airport or at your hotel in Arusha by 6:00 pm in the evening when your safari will end. With an incredible experience and loads of memories to cherish, this is the time you say goodbye to your safari crew.

    Pick up at 7:00 AM from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. Tanzania’s third largest National park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, oryx, eland, giraffe, and zebra. After a full day in the park, we will drive to the Luxury Lodge where a delicious dinner awaits you, and spend the night.

    Accommodation:

    Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater

    After an early breakfast, you will have a short of drive to the Ngorongoro entrances, and after a few minutes, you start descending to 600m down the crater for a game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is almost 600m deep, and approximately 20 km wide and the massive caldera is home to an amazing variety of animals. On your game drive, you have the possibility of seeing all different kinds of mammals ranging from the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard – to Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles and mountain reedbucks. You might also see spotted hyenas, and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. After a picnic lunch in the crater and some more game viewing, you will leave the crater in the evening and travel back to the tented camp/lodge where you will be spending the second night.

    Day 4: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

    • Distance & Time: Lake Manyara to Arusha takes about 2.5 to 3 hours (113 km/70 mi)

    You will depart the camp at around 0700hrs and head to Lake Manyara National Park for your final game drive. The park is renowned for its elusive tree-climbing lions and diverse bird life. The shallow and alkaline Lake Manyara covers a large area of the park and it is the seasonal home to thousands of flamingos – an awesome (pink) sight. However, more than 400 other species are also found here as well as some wonderful mammals. Troops of monkeys live in the forests, giraffes, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests on the grassy plains and elephants. After your tour around the beautiful lake and the amazing ground water forest you will be transferred back to Arusha /Airport in the afternoon via curio shops where you can some souvenirs to take back home with you.

    On the last day of your safari, you will have an early start. Finishing up with a quick breakfast you will make an early descent at around 6:30 am into the crater floor. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260sq km/161sq mi) with a depth of over 2000 feet. The 6-hours game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, black rhino, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and lions are found in plenty. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Ngoito Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascent to the top exit of the crater. This is the last leg of your safari, with a 4hrs drive left to where your safari will end. With an incredible experience and loads of memories to cherish, this is the time you say goodbye to your safari crew.

The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260sq km/161sq mi) with a depth of over 2000 feet. The 6-hours game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, black rhino, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and lions are found in plenty. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Ngoito Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascent to the top exit of the crater. This is the last leg of your safari, with a 4hrs drive left to where your safari will end.         After breakfast, you will travel via the cooler highlands towards the southern Serengeti and at midday you will reach the plains of the Serengeti National Park. Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the grassy landscape where predators are often seen.         After breakfast enter into the corners of plains Serengeti for a full day to explore the Serengeti with both morning and afternoon game drives.         Day 5: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater via Olduvai Gorge.

        • Distance & Drive time: central Serengeti to NCA takes about 3 to 3.5 hours (153 km/95mi)

        After breakfast, morning game drives at Serengeti National Park. On your outward journey to the park gate, you will enjoy some more game viewing before you leave the Serengeti National Park in the early afternoon to continue your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Proceed to the famous archaeological site of Olduvai Gorge, where Louis and Mary Leakey discovered Homo habilis, regarded as one of the earliest members of the human genus. Walk around the excavation sites and learn more about this wonderful place on Earth. Later after visiting the Gorge we will drive to our lodge for dinner and overnight located on the ridge of Ngorongoro rim and prepare ourselves for the Ngorongoro Crater the next day.

        Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Tour

        Distance & Drive Time: Full Day game drive

        Starting early, you have half day to explore the Ngorongoro Crater, The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 sq.km/161 sq. mi

        With a depth of over 200 feet. The 5- hours game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs and Lions are found in plenty. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, continue with game viewing before earlier evening, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. With a 2 hrs. drive left to your accommodation in Lake Manyara, the day will come to a close, freshly made delicious dinner is kept ready for you at your Campsite/Lodge.         Day 7: Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

        On the last day of your safari, you will have an early start you will depart the Lodge at around 0730hrs and head to Lake Manyara National Park for your final game drive. The park is renowned for its elusive tree-climbing lions and diverse bird life. The shallow and alkaline Lake Manyara covers a large area of the park and it is the seasonal home to thousands of flamingos- an awesome(pink) sight. However, more than 400 other bird species are also found here as well as some wonderful mammals. Troops of monkeys like in the forests, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests on grassy plains and elephants.

        After your tour around the beautiful lake and the amazing ground water forest you will be transferred back to Arusha/Airport in the afternoon via curio shops where you can grab some souvenirs to take back home with you.           Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Park

          Pick up from your hotel in the morning at 7.30 am and head to Maasai Mara Game Reserve for lunch at your tented camp followed by afternoon game drive in the game reserve which is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year-round.               Itinerary

              Day 0:  Arrival Nairobi.

              Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta international airport, you will be picked up from the airport by a Kilele Climb representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Nairobi where you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come, restore and enjoy your first taste of Africa.

              Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Park

              Pick up from your hotel in the morning at 7.30 am and head to Maasai Mara Game Reserve for lunch at your tented camp followed by afternoon game drive in the game reserve which is Kenya’s finest wildlife sanctuary. Including migrants, well over 450 species of animals have been recorded here. Although July, August and September are the months when the Mara plains are filled with migrating wildebeest and zebra, there is also resident wildlife year-round. The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve. Dinner and overnight at the Masai Mara Ilkeliani Camp tented bush camp located just outside Masai Mara NR

              Day 2: Masai Mara

              Breakfast at the camp before leaving the camp at 8 a.m. with a packed lunch for an extensive 8-hour game viewing. Maasai Mara game reserve has the highest number of different species and you will be lucky to see hundreds of them. A game drive to Mara River is compulsory. During migration time, you will be impressed by it, otherwise, you will see crocodiles and hippos at the river.               Day 3: Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park

              After early breakfast at your camp, meet the guide then depart for Serengeti with picnic lunch boxes at the Kenya Tanzania border meet your guide from Tanzania and proceed on to Serengeti arriving in the afternoon for enroute game drive.

              In the evening arrive at Serengeti Heritage Luxury Tented Camps in time for dinner. Later overnight at the camp. Located Inside the Park.

              Day 4-5: Serengeti National Park

              Full day in Serengeti with morning and afternoon game drive, all meals included at the camp.
              Serengeti is located on the northern part of Tanzania and is widely known for the massive annual migration of the wildebeest and Zebras, which move from one point to another in search of new grazing pasture. Some cross the crocodile infested Grumeti River while others veer northeast to Lobo Hill’s, home of the black Rhino and black eagles. Overnight at Serengeti Heritage Luxury Tented Camps Located Inside the Park.

              Day 6: Serengeti National park to Ngorongoro Crater.

              • Distance & Drive time: Central Serengeti to NCA takes about 3 to 3.5 hours (153km/95mi)

              After early morning breakfast, you will drive to Ngorongoro crater, as it is the best time to spot animals on this day, you will enjoy a game drive around the crater and stop for a picnic lunch at a small lake within the park (Ngoitok Hippo pool). The lake is home to many hippos and migratory birds, you will enjoy the visit! Due to the animal “oasis” created within the crater, there is a high possibility of spotting every member of “The Big 5” The ground comprises some of the strongest animals in Africa-the ferocious lion, The giant elephant, the stealthy Leopard, the charging rhino, and the mighty water buffalo.

              After extensive game drives at Ngorongoro crater, you will leave the crater floor in the late afternoon to continue your journey to the lodge (Eileen’s Tree Lodge) located at Karatu for dinner and overnight.

              Day 7: Ngorongoro to Amboseli via Arusha City | Namanga border

              • Distance & Drive Time: Karatu to Namanga border takes about 4.5 hours (286km/178mi) to Amboseli 1 hour (50 km)

              After breakfast, drive to Arusha city before head to the border point of Namanga where you pass through the immigration offices and later change the vehicle and the Guide. You will have picnic lunch at Namanga before Start the Safari to Amboseli.  Arrive for check in at Kibo Safari Camp Located just outside the park. At 1530hrs you have a game drive in the park. Amboseli is known for big herd of elephants grazing in the swamp under the Snow-Capped Mount Kilimanjaro. Late in the evening you will capture another photo as they cross in front of your safari cars, heading towards the forest where they sleep. Other animals to see are; African Buffalo, Burchell Zebra, Spotted Hyena, Lion and Cheetah. Wait for the beautiful Sunset with Herd of Elephants and Mount Kilimanjaro. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

              Day 8: Full Day Safari in Amboseli National Park

              Distance & Drive Time: Unlimited game drive
              Have an early morning pre-breakfast game drive at 6.30 am, when you have the best chance to see the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro. Afterward, return to the lodge for late breakfast. The rest of the morning is spent at leisure. In the afternoon, you’ll go for a game drive. Hike to the Observation Hill for a view of the Whole Park as you have your lunch there. Later return to the hotel at 1700hrs. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

              Day 9– Amboseli National Park to Nairobi

              • Distance & Time: Amboseli to Nairobi takes about 3.5 to 4 hours 212 km

              On the last day of your safari, you will have an early start you will depart the Lodge at around 0730hrs for your final game drive. Depart to Nairobi arriving at about 1700hours, including lunch en route. Transfer to your hotel or the airport.

              Meal Plan: Breakfast and Lunch. As today is the end of the safari, please note that dinner tonight is not included in the tour.
