Butiama Beach Lodge
Located on west coast of Mafia Island
Butiama Beach Lodge is situated on the west coast of Mafia Island, just next to main town of Kilindoni and outside of the Marine Park boundaries. The lodge is the perfect beachfront retreat to relax and unwind and our beach is the departing point to go to swim with whale sharks. With only 13 bungalows and a maximum occupancy of 32 people it allows you to have privacy and space. This are a family business and aim for casual and relaxed atmosphere which caters for couples, friends or families. From Mafia airstrip it takes around 10 minutes by car. Butiama Beach Lodge was open in 2010.

Butiama Marine Camp is a simple lodge, especially aimed at the divers of the Big Blu Mafia diving center. The bungalows and safari tents of Butiama Marine Camp are located in the tropical garden, directly on the beach of the azure blue Indian Ocean. We are lucky to be able to offer our guests different options for their accommodation needs whilst they are staying on Mafia Island.

Butiama Bustani Hotel has been named after its tranquil garden setting, as Bustani means “garden” in Kiswahili. It is situated on the West coast of Mafia Island in an area called Magemani – this means “cliff-top” in Kiswahili. With only 10 rooms it is the perfect garden setting to relax, whilst remaining close enough to the local emenities. It is a quiet area looking down on the Indian Ocean. It is close to the main town of Kilindoni and outside of the Marine Park boundaries. From Mafia airstrip, it takes around 5 minutes by car.

Kinasi Lodge is a boutique hotel on Mafia Island, approximately 100 km south of Dar es Salaam. A short ride across the island from the airport and the main town of Kilindoni, the lodge overlooks Chole Bay in Mafia Island Marine Park. This intimate and lovely resort, situated in an old cashew and coconut plantation, provides a luxury stay amidst stylish décor and magnificent natural surroundings of the protected marine park. The swimming pool is surrounded by verdant gardens with sunbeds and alfresco lunchtime seating on the pool terrace.
