The parks are highly impressed with their Seventh wonder of the world, The ‘Annual Great Wildebeest Migration”. The Serengeti is the oldest and most famous national park in Tanzania and possibly the best–known wildlife sanctuary in the world. With other features, Ngorongoro, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the only place on earth where mankind and wild animals co-exist in harmony. A professional safari guide with much experience in the African bush will lead your tour and provide deeper insight into the wildlife animal and scenery around you.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport, you will be picked up from the airport by a Summit Climb representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Moshi/Arusha where you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come, restore and enjoy your first taste of Africa. Depending on your arrival time, you may have your pre-safari briefing today; if not, it will take place early tomorrow morning.

Day 2: Arusha to central Serengeti

Distance & Drive time: Arusha to Serengeti takes about 6 to 7 hours (382 km/237mi)

After early breakfast at 6:30 am in your hotel/lodge in Arusha, you will be met by your safari driver guide and start your journey toward Serengeti. we will have a short stop at the Rift valley viewpoint and the Ngorongoro crater viewpoint before you arrive on the plain of Serengeti. Today we will enjoy a picnic lunch on Naabi kopje (a small, rocky hill in a generally flat area) where you will have the opportunity to view the Serengeti’s famous pink-headed lizards. After lunch in the afternoon, you do your first game drive spotting animals like lions, leopards, buffalo, dik-dik, Thomson’s gazelle, grant’s gazelle, elephant, impala, giraffe, hippopotamus, and many more. The Serengeti is famous for the yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebra trek to find fresh grass and water. You will overnight at a lodge /campsite in central Serengeti in the Seronera area.

Day 3: Central Serengeti National Park.

Distance & Drive Time: Full-day game viewing.

After breakfast enters into the corners of plains Serengeti for a full day game drive to explore the Serengeti. The Serengeti National Park is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania’s game park and offers arguably the best game viewing in Africa. The setting is perfect- A sea of the endless plain that stretches to the horizon, dotted with the occasion acacia tree and termite mound. This savannah is home to huge herds of wildebeest that every year make the mass migration north, through crocodile-infested rivers in a frenzied mixture of mating and galloping that is driven by instinct. Pride of lions’ rules here, their hungry gaze sweeping the savannah for a chance to attack the thousands of eland impala and gazelle, Solitary leopards stake out their place in the high branches of the acacia tree and herds of elephants’ roam at will. This is the Africa that you have always dreamed about. You will overnight at a lodge/campsite located in central Serengeti in the Seronera area.

Day 4: Serengeti-Ngorongoro crater to Arusha

Distance & Drive time: Serengeti to Ausha takes about 6 to 7 hours (382 km/237mi)

After early morning breakfast, you will drive to Ngorongoro crater, as it is the best time to spot animals on this day, you will enjoy a game drive around the crater and stop for a picnic lunch at a small lake within the park (Ngoitok Hippo pool). The lake is home to many hippos and migratory birds, you will enjoy the visit! Due to the animal “oasis” created within the crater, there is a high possibility of spotting every member of “The Big 5”

The ground comprises some of the strongest animals in Africa-the ferocious lion, The giant elephant, the stealthy Leopard, the charging rhino, and the mighty water buffalo. Ngorongoro crater travels back to Arusha. This is the last leg of your safari, with a 4hrs drive left to Arusha, you will be dropped off at JRO Airport or at your hotel in Arusha by 6:00 pm in the evening when your safari will end. With an incredible experience and loads of memories to cherish, this is the time you say goodbye to your safari crew.

Meals plan: Breakfast and Lunch. As today is the end of the safari, please note that Accommodation and dinner tonight is not included in the tour.

Departure Instructions

Please note that the 4 Day Serengeti Trail-The Big 5 Safari Tour – ends at Kilimanjaro International Airport at 17.00 hours. Your departure can only take place today if you have pre-booked a domestic flight which leaves from Kilimanjaro International Airport at 19.00 hours or after, or an international flight which leaves at 21.00 hours or after. Otherwise, you will need to book an extra night’s accommodation (not included in the tour price) and take a flight the following day
