Itinerary

Day 1 – Arusha – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

  • Travel time: 3 hours – 3 hours

With the three-hour drive to see stunning Ngorongoro ahead of us, a 06.00 departure from your hotel in Arusha City is required. Your expert Kilele Climb driver-guide will take good care of you throughout the day, enjoying the chance to share his knowledge with you. You will drop into the Crater for a 6-hour preoccupation drive. In the midst of this time you will break for lunch at Ngoitokok swamp, a Hippo pool, which is included in the day tour. In this untainted journey spot, you find the opportunity to take in and picture the beautiful scene that includes you.

After a wonderful day enjoying the spectacular sights and sounds of this truly special place, we leave Ngorongoro around 15.30, to arrive back in Arusha for 18.30 where you are dropped off at your hotel in Arusha city.

    Itinerary

    Day 1: Moshi – Olpopongi – Moshi

    • Travel time: 1½ hour – 1 ½ hour

    You will be picked up at your hotel at 0730hrs and transferred to the Olpopongi Maasai Village. It is roughly a 1-and-a-half-hour drive from Moshi town. A tour to the Olpopongi Maasai Village with our local guide gives visitors an insight into the real local Maasai culture and traditional. You will also go on a short walking safari and learn about Maasai hunting techniques and their natural medicines, spend part of your time visiting local bomas and learn Maasai way of life, livestock keeping and milking, their food, cattle herding, water fetching, firewood collection, house construction by women’s, how they start a fire and participate in their traditional dance.

    A traditional lunch will be prepared for you in the afternoon. After your tour of the village you will be transferred back to your hotel in Moshi.

      Tarangire National Park is one of the national parks found in the northern safari circuit in Tanzania. The name Tarangire originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. The Tarangire River is the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the annual dry season. Its natural vegetation mainly consists of Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees, with huge swamp areas in the south of the park.       Pick up at 6:30 AM from your hotel in Moshi/Arusha and depart for Tarangire National park with a picnic lunch for a full day game drive. Tanzania’s third largest National park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centerpiece of this park which is famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, oryx, eland, giraffe, and zebra. You spend as much time as possible at the park, marveling at all its wonderful wildlife with the assistance and expert knowledge of your Kilele Climb driver-guide.

      After a wonderful day enjoying the spectacular sights and sounds of this truly special place, we leave Tarangire around 16.00, to arrive back in Moshi for 19.30 where you are dropped off at your hotel in Moshi.

        Day 1: Arrival – Arusha

        Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport, you will be picked up from the airport by a Summit Climb representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Moshi/Arusha where you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come, restore and enjoy your first taste of Africa. Depending on your arrival time, you may have your pre-safari briefing today; if not, it will take place early tomorrow morning.

        Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National park.

        Day 3: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

        After breakfast, you will travel via the cooler highlands towards the southern Serengeti and at midday you will reach the plains of the Serengeti National Park. This park is the largest in Tanzania and has a diversity of habitats and landscapes – short grass plains, savannah, thick bush, swamps, and lakes. Bizarre rock formations called kopjes dot the grassy landscape where predators are often seen. The Serengeti is famous for the yearly migration when hundreds of thousands of wildebeests and zebras trek to find fresh grass and water. You will overnight at lodge/Campsite located central Serengeti (Seronera Area).

        Day 4: Serengeti National Park

        After breakfast enter into the corners of plains Serengeti for a full day to explore the Serengeti with both morning and afternoon game drives. The Serengeti National Park is the jewel in the crown of Tanzania’s game parks and offers arguably the best game viewing in Africa. The setting is perfect –a sea of endless plains that stretches to the horizon, dotted with the occasional acacia tree and termite mound. This Savanna is home to huge herds of Wildebeest that every year make the mass migration North, through crocodile infested rivers, in a frenzied mixture of mating and galloping that is driven by instinct. Prides of lion rule here, their hungry gaze sweeping the Savannah for a chance to attack the thousands of eland, impala and gazelle. Solitary leopard stakes out their place in the high branches of the acacia tree and herds of elephant’s roam at will. This is the Africa that you have always dreamed about.         After breakfast, morning game drives at Serengeti National Park. On your outward journey to the park gate, you will enjoy some more game viewing before you leave the Serengeti National Park in the early afternoon to continue your journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for dinner and overnight. You will overnight at Lodge/Campsite located on the ridge of Ngorongoro rim.

        Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Tour to Lake Eyasi

        • Distance & Drive Time: NCA to Lake Eyasi takes about 2 hours (90 km/36.6mi)

        Starting early, you have half day to explore the Ngorongoro Crater, The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 sq.km/161 sq. mi

        With a depth of over 200 feet. The 5- hours game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is definitely recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs and Lions are found in plenty. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, continue with game viewing before earlier evening, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. With a 2 hrs. drive left to your accommodation in Lake Eyasi, the day will come to a close, freshly made delicious dinner is kept ready for you at your Campsite/Lodge. All these days of the safari, will have you quite tired and a good rest is essential. The next day you will begin the last leg of your safari.

        Day 7: Lake Eyasi

        Today, we will have the opportunity to interact with the Bushmen, specifically the Hadzabe Tribe. They live in groups and rely on hunting with bow and arrows, as well as gathering roots, tubers, and wild fruits to survive. Their way of life is similar to that of humankind during the Stone Age. During our visit, we will learn about how they adapt to their harsh environment and the challenges they face to continue their nomadic lifestyle. 

        We will also have the chance to meet the Datoga tribe, who are skilled blacksmiths. This trade has been developed over centuries and is still practiced in the same way today. The Datoga tribe produces arrowheads for the Hadzabe and brass trinkets, some of which may be available for purchase. 

        After completing your morning activities, you can return to your lodge to relish a hot lunch and relax by the swimming pool. This will give you a chance to refresh your mind and body before proceeding with the rest of your day’s itinerary. Additionally, you can enjoy a cool drink at the bar or relax on your private balcony while admiring the stunning views of the beautiful lake.

        Day 8: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha

        • Distance & Time: Lake Manyara to Arusha takes about 2.5 to 3 hours (113 km/70 mi)

        On the last day of your safari, you will have an early start you will depart the Lodge at around 0730hrs and head to Lake Manyara National Park for your final game drive. The park is renowned for its elusive tree-climbing lions and diverse bird life. The shallow and alkaline Lake Manyara covers a large area of the park and it is the seasonal home to thousands of flamingos- an awesome(pink) sight. However, more than 400 other bird species are also found here as well as some wonderful mammals. Troops of monkeys like in the forests, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests on grassy plains and elephants.

        After your tour around the beautiful lake and the amazing ground water forest you will be transferred back to Arusha/Airport in the afternoon via curio shops where you can grab some souvenirs to take back home with you. With an incredible experience and loads of memories to cherish, this is the time you say goodbye to your safari crew.

Otherwise, you will need to book an extra night’s accommodation (not included in the tour price) and take a flight the following day
