Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Arusha/Dar es Salaam
Arrive at Kilimanjaro airport, you will be picked up from the airport by a Kilele Climb Tours representative and conveyed to your accommodation in Moshi/Arusha where you will overnight, relax, and prepare in anticipation of the adventures to come, restore and enjoy your first taste of Africa. Depending on your arrival time, you may have your pre-safari briefing today; if not, it will take place early tomorrow morning.

Day 2: Arusha / Dar es salaam to Mahale mountains National park.
Departure time is early morning from Arusha / Dar es salaam to Mahale. Will arrive at Mahale late afternoon/evening then will be picked up by the boat across Lake Tanganyika (longest and deepest freshwater lake in Africa) to the camp in Mahale mountains national park. Dinner and Overnight at Mahale Park Cottages.

Day 3: Full Mahale Forest Trekking Safari
After breakfasts. 08h00 start Chimpanzee tracking in the forest. The hikes takes you to the chimp’s habitation areas are accessible and not strenuous, although being in good physical condition will ease the strain of walking through the jungle! Up close, observing the endangered primates is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Meals and overnight.

Day 4: Mahale Mountain National Park
After breakfasts. 08h00 start Chimpanzee tracking in the forest. The hikes take you to the chimp’s habitation areas are accessible and not strenuous, although being in good physical condition will ease the strain of walking through the jungle! Day 5: Mahale to Arusha / Dar es salaam
We Will have breakfast early morning then will be transferred to the airstrip for your charter to Arusha/ Dar es salaam. After you arrive at Arusha/Dar es salaam you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel or Kilimanjaro airport for your flight back home.
- Meals plan Breakfast and lunch. As today is the end of the safari, please note that Accommodation and dinner tonight is not included in the tour.
- Additional accommodation can be arranged for an extra cost.
- You’ll be dropped off at the airport.
Departure Instructions
Please note that the Fly in Mahale Mountains Chimpanzee Trekking Safari Tour – 5 Days ends at Kilimanjaro/ Dar es Salaam International Airport at 17.00 hours. Your departure can only take place today if you have pre-booked an international flight which leaves at 21.00 hours or after. Otherwise, you will need to book an extra night’s accommodation (not included in the tour price) and take a flight the following day
