Adventure, safety, and unique experiences at Africa’s heart.
Rising to 4,566m (14,980ft), Mount Meru is the second-highest peak in Tanzania and the fifth-highest in Africa. Nestled within Arusha National Park, just west of Kilimanjaro, it offers some of the most breathtaking scenery and wildlife diversity of any mountain in the region. Unlike other climbs, Mount Meru is not just a trek — it’s a walking safari and mountain adventure combined. As you ascend, you’ll pass through lush rainforest, moorlands, and alpine desert, with opportunities to spot giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, zebras, colobus monkeys, baboons, wildebeest, warthogs, and over 300 bird species, including flamingos.
Mount Meru can be trekked in 3 or 4 days, depending on your fitness and high-altitude experience:
Accommodation is in rustic mountain huts, offering comfort after long trekking days. Every step reveals a new landscape — from dense rainforest alive with wildlife to alpine desert with sweeping views of
Kilimanjaro.
Mount Meru is not just a climb; it’s an immersive adventure that blends nature, wildlife, and high-altitude trekking into one unforgettable journey.
