About this Property
Butiama Beach Lodge is situated on the west coast of Mafia Island, just next to main town of Kilindoni and outside of the Marine Park boundaries. The lodge is the perfect beachfront retreat to relax and unwind and our beach is the departing point to go to swim with whale sharks. With only 13 bungalows and a maximum occupancy of 32 people it allows you to have privacy and space. This are a family business and aim for casual and relaxed atmosphere which caters for couples, friends or families. From Mafia airstrip it takes around 10 minutes by car. Butiama Beach Lodge was open in 2010.
Accommodation
The cottages’ interior is light and colorful, with furniture from local wood and decorated with “kikoi”: typical Tanzanian, beautiful, colorful, woven cloths. All rooms have a bathroom with a hot shower and mosquito nets.
