Day 1

Hotel – Momella Gate – Miriakamba Hut

Arrive in Moshi/Arusha at least one day before the trek. Optional airport transfers are available. Meet your guide for a comprehensive briefing, equipment check, and gear rental if needed.

  • Start: Momella Gate (1,500m)
  • Finish: Miriakamba Hut (2,500m)
  • Distance: 14km | 4–5 hrs
  • Meals: Lunch & Dinner

Begin your trek in Arusha National Park, walking through acacia forest grasslands where giraffes and buffalo roam. Highlights include Maio Falls and the famous Fig Tree Arch. Arrive at Miriakamba Hut for tea, snacks, and a restful evening.

Day 2

Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut

  • Start: 2,500m
  • Finish: 3,500m
  • Distance: 6km | 3–4 hrs
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Climb steep wooden steps through misty rainforest to Mgongo wa Tembo (Elephant’s Back) viewpoint. Continue to Saddle Hut, where vegetation shifts to heather and moorland. Optional hike to Little Meru (3,801m) offers panoramic views of Kilimanjaro and Arusha National Park.

Day 3

Saddle Hut – Summit – Miriakamba Hut – Momella Gate – Hotel

  • Summit: Socialist Peak (4,562m)
  • Finish: Momella Gate (1,500m)
  • Distance: 28km | 14–16 hrs
  • Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

Start at midnight with headlamps guiding the way to Rhino Point (3,821m). Scramble along the crater rim to reach the summit at sunrise, where you’ll witness Kilimanjaro glowing in the morning light. Descend via Saddle Hut for refreshments, then continue to Momella Gate. Transfer back to Moshi/Arusha for leisure.
