Day 1

Arusha to Central Serengeti – Game Drive

Distance: Approximately 350 km / 217 miles
Driving Time: Approximately 6–7 hours

After an early breakfast at your hotel or lodge in Arusha, your experienced safari driver-guide will meet you at approximately 6:30 AM and begin your journey towards the legendary Serengeti National Park.

Along the way, you will have the opportunity to stop at scenic viewpoints overlooking the Great Rift Valley and the spectacular Ngorongoro landscape before continuing towards the Serengeti.

As you approach the Serengeti, the landscape gradually changes into vast open plains stretching as far as the eye can see. You will have a picnic lunch at Naabi Hill Gate/Kopjes, an area known for its spectacular scenery and wildlife.

After lunch, your first Serengeti game drive begins. Keep your camera ready as you search for lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, impalas, Thomson’s gazelles, Grant’s gazelles, dik-diks, and many other species.

The Serengeti is particularly famous for the annual Great Wildebeest Migration, when enormous herds of wildebeest and zebras move across the ecosystem in search of fresh grass and water.

In the late afternoon, you will continue towards the Seronera area of Central Serengeti, where you will spend the night.

Day 2

Full-Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti

Activity: Full-Day Game Drive

After breakfast, prepare for a full day of exploring the magnificent Central Serengeti.

The Serengeti is widely regarded as one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. Its seemingly endless savannah plains are dotted with acacia trees, rocky kopjes, and seasonal water sources, creating an ideal habitat for an extraordinary variety of wildlife.

During your game drive, you will have excellent opportunities to observe large herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, and other herbivores. The area is also home to some of Africa’s most famous predators.

Watch for prides of lions resting beneath trees or stalking their prey, elusive leopards resting in acacia branches, and cheetahs scanning the open plains for their next opportunity. Elephants and giraffes can also frequently be seen moving across the savannah.

Your experienced guide will help you understand the behavior of the animals and the fascinating relationship between predators, prey, and the Serengeti ecosystem.

As the day comes to an end, you will return to your campsite in the Seronera area for dinner and another night beneath the African sky.

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable natural wonders. Its enclosed ecosystem supports a high concentration of wildlife, giving you an excellent chance of encountering several of Africa’s most iconic species.

During your game drive, look out for lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, and the endangered black rhinoceros. With favorable conditions and some luck, you may have the opportunity to see all members of the Big Five in the Ngorongoro ecosystem.
