The Marangu Day Trip takes you to Marangu town, located on the lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Known for its lively market atmosphere and cool climate, Marangu is a perfect base for cultural exploration and nature walks.
Just a short 45-minute drive from Moshi, you’ll reach the famous Ndoro Waterfalls. Surrounded by lush landscapes, the falls are a highlight for hiking, bird watching, and photography. The area also offers a glimpse into rural African life, with opportunities to meet the welcoming Chagga people and learn about their traditions.
Visitors can explore traditional Chagga houses, taste local cuisine made from bananas, and sample the famous homemade banana beer, Mbege. The cultural tourism program also includes visits to caves, waterfalls, and traditional blacksmiths, making this trip a rich blend of nature and heritage.

Day 1
Moshi – Marangu – Moshi
- Travel time: 1 hour each way
- Pickup from your hotel at 08:00 am.
- Drive to Ndoro Waterfalls, one of the largest and most popular waterfalls in the area.
- Enjoy a one-hour hike through lush Chagga landscapes to reach the falls. Swim, relax, or photograph the stunning scenery.
- Lunch break in the valley.
- Explore cultural highlights: traditional Chagga houses, caves, blacksmiths, and taste local banana beer (Mbege).
- Return to Moshi in the late afternoon.
Time at destination: Approx. 8 hours (09:00–17:00).
