Located between the towns of Masaka and Mbarara, Lake Mburo National Park is a conservative jewel, found helpfully near the thruway that interfaces Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It is the littlest of Uganda's savannah national parks and underlain by old Precambrian transformative rocks which go back in excess of 500 million years. Together with 13 different lakes in the territory, Lake Mburo frames some portion of a 50km-long wetland framework connected by a swamp. Five of these lakes exist in the park's fringes. Once secured by open savanna, Lake Mburo National Park currently contains much forest as there are no elephants to tame the vegetation.
